Hotel or a house with services? A different way to stay on the Route of Milagres
Between the hotel and the pousada there is another option: a holiday house with the support of a local team.

When planning a holiday on the Ecological Route of Milagres, many travellers start by looking for a hotel or a pousada. But there is another option for those who want more space, privacy and freedom during the trip: staying in a house with services.
This model combines the comfort of a holiday house with the attention of a local team. It is an especially interesting alternative for couples, families and small groups who prefer to organise their days independently, but don't want to handle every day-to-day detail of running a house.
At Pontal da Enseada, on Tatuamunha beach, this takes the form of two independent houses, each with two suites, a full kitchen, an open living area, a terrace and access to the garden and the pool.
What does it mean to stay in a house with services?
A house with services doesn't work exactly like a hotel, but it isn't simply a home handed over to the guest either.
The house offers private, fully equipped spaces so that each group can set its own timetable, prepare a meal, rest on the terrace or spend the day by the pool. At the same time, a local team takes care of the tasks that make the stay easier.
At Pontal, the included services cover:
- daily housekeeping;
- preparing and helping with breakfast and lunch (using the groceries guests have bought);
- guidance on organising the shopping before or during the stay;
- help in the kitchen for part of the day;
- bed linen and towels;
- information on beaches, outings, restaurants and local experiences;
- the team's support throughout the stay.
Additional services can also be requested, such as regional meals prepared by the team, transfers, outings, arrival groceries and other experiences. These services are booked and paid for separately.
More space to enjoy the holiday
In a hotel, the room is usually the main private space. In a house, the group has a living room, a kitchen, a terrace and different areas to spend time in.
That difference is most noticeable on trips of several days. You can have breakfast without hurry, put together a simple dinner, prepare something for the children, rest on the terrace or get together at the end of the day without depending on a restaurant's hours or a hotel's common areas.
The Pontal houses are about 90 square metres each. Both have:
- two suites with queen beds and air conditioning;
- an open living and dining area;
- a full kitchen;
- Smart TV and Wi-Fi;
- a terrace with hammocks;
- a barbecue;
- access to the garden and the pool shared by the two houses.
House 1 also has a more private outdoor space, with a deck and an ofurô (hot tub). House 2 faces the pool and the garden.

Privacy without isolation
One of the advantages of a holiday house is being able to organise the trip around the group's own rhythm. That doesn't mean being left without help.
At Pontal, contact begins before you arrive. The team can advise on the most convenient airport, transfers, car hire, shopping, outings and restaurants.
During the stay, guests continue to have support with practical matters and in getting to know the region better. This mix of privacy and attention is one of the main reasons many families choose this kind of stay again.
A good option for families
Travelling as a family calls for a setup that adapts to different ages, schedules and needs.
A fully equipped kitchen lets you prepare a quick meal, keep food on hand and organise breakfast around everyone's preferences. The suites offer privacy, while the living room, terrace, garden and pool create places to spend time together.
It is also a comfortable choice for those travelling with children, with their parents or with relatives who prefer to spend some moments at the house while others explore the region.
A house for couples and friends
The extra space is not an advantage for families alone. Two couples or a small group of friends can share a house while keeping the privacy of the suites.
The terrace, the barbecue and the option of booking lunches, dinners or a happy hour prepared by the team help turn the house itself into part of the experience of the trip.
For larger groups, both houses can also be booked, giving you all four of Pontal's suites.
A more personal way to get to know Tatuamunha
Pontal da Enseada is in Tatuamunha, in the municipality of Porto de Pedras, within the area known as the Ecological Route of Milagres.
From the house, guests can visit the beaches of Tatuamunha, Lages, Patacho, Porto da Rua, São Miguel dos Milagres and other places in the region. They can also visit the Tatuamunha river, take trips to the natural pools and discover small restaurants and projects connected to the land.
Having a team that lives and works in the region helps in choosing activities according to the tides, the conditions of the day and each group's style.
A house with services or a hotel?
There is no single answer for every traveller. The choice depends on how each person wants to spend their holiday.
A hotel can suit those who prefer to keep much of the experience within a hotel setting. A house with services can be more appealing for those looking for:
- more private space;
- freedom with schedules;
- a kitchen at their disposal;
- spaces to share with family or friends;
- more personal attention;
- a closer relationship with the destination.
At Pontal, the aim is to offer the care of a good place to stay with the freedom that only a house can give.
